Surf Review
Chance the Rapper finally dropped his long anticipated sequel to AcidRap, Surf, last week for free on ITunes; I won't even lie my first listen to this album, I was highly disappointed. Where is the rap Chance?? I couldn't believe Chance the Rapper had actually let me down... But then I read the album credits. This isn't a Chance the Rapper album at all, the album artist is Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment, and that's when it hit me. I listened to it all the way twice through and it is actually a FANTASTIC Album. If you were looking and expecting for a Chance dominated album, this is not it; this album is so much more. It highlights a collection of artists, ranging from singers to instrument players, to then rappers. This is feel good album, spreads many positive messages in many of the songs ranging from love to stopping violence. My most loved part of this album is that it's jam-packed with features. There are many big name verses on Surf like Big Sean and J. Cole, and then their are also many lesser known , but surely up and coming rappers like Noname Gypsy and Saba. My personal two favorite songs on this album are Sunday Candy and Wanna Be Cool. On Wanna Be Cool, to me, Kyle delivered the best verse of the album. But overall very solid album, one that will be played months from now. Check it out .
